Personal Details On Resume-What personal information should be listed in resume


Personal details section in resume is generally the easiest one to write. When you are writing this section, it should be limited to the relevant details. Employer cannot ask you the details like your age, gender, race and religion. Hence, you can provide the other important details related to the job in your CV. This section will evenly contribute in improving the quality of your application. Resume example will help you know what are the details you need to mention in your resume .
Need of Personal Information in Resume :


The personal information section in the resume will include the contact details of the applicant. This is the address where the employer will be contacting the applicant if he finds him/her suitable for the job. Hence, this section in your CV is very important. It is necessary to write the details here with great accuracy and proof read it after writing for any spelling mistakes. You can divide this section in to two parts. Contact details and personal profile. Contact details should always be listed on top of the CV at the beginning while you can list the personal profile at the end of the resume. Sometimes you may be rejected by the recruiter due to mistakes made in resume . So always be sure to be accurate in giving details . Learn from the resume mistakes you made during prior interviews and improve yourself next time .
Tips to Write Personal Details :


Although this section is easy to write, there are certain things that you need to keep in mind when you write personal details. As this section is easy to write, there are not many tips to follow:
  • Make sure to include this section in the beginning of your CV. It can be listed  on the top left, top right or center  of the resume .
  • Leave proper spaces between two lines .
  • Make sure that the details you listed are accurate and don’t have any spelling mistakes .
  • Write your full name and complete address along with the street address .
  • When writing your contact number, give the area code for your landline number .
Personal Details to List in your Resume :

1.Name

The name in this section should appear as you introduce yourself in everyday life. Do not use only initials, instead mention full name in this section. Possibly write your first name in the beginning followed by your last name. No need to include title like Mr., Mrs. or Ms.

2.Address
Make sure that you mention the full address instead of short form. It must be clear and should not be confusing. This is the address where you will receive all your correspondence. Hence, it should be written accurately.
3.Telephone Number

Mention the contact number of home and your mobile number. Also list the area code for the landline number. Employer may contact you on the mentioned numbers for any query. Hence, it is important to provide the number that is currently in use.
4.E-mail ID

E-mail ID is now widely used as a part of the contact information. All the business communication is generally done through mails. You may receive the softcopy of the documents on your mail ID and other related information. Hence do mention your E-mail ID in your personal details section.
5.Other Details

There is no need to include any other information like age ,gender , race ,nationality or marital status in personal details section . Include details like nationality or race only if asked when you are applying for government positions . Including anything other than this will make it sound ineffective and boring.
